The Vamps became an increasingly popular boy band in the mid-2010s, and still continue to grow.

The Vamps, a popular British pop-rock band, made up of four members: Bradley Simpson, James McVey, Connor Ball, and Tristan Evans.

Bradley is the lead singer & guitarist, James is the guitarist & vocalist, Connor is the bass player & vocalist and Tristan is the drummer & vocalist.

In 2011, James McVey – who was a solo act managed by Prestige Management – discovered Bradley Simpson through YouTube.

James and Brad started writing songs together in late 2011. Brad later became the lead singer.

In 2012, Tristan Evans met James and Brad via Facebook, joining the band soon after.

Shortly after, Connor Ball joined the band after meeting the rest via a mutual friend.

The Vamps were signed to Mercury Records in November 2012.

By late 2012 and early 2013, The Vamps uploaded cover songs to YouTube, where they rapidly got themselves a large fan-base.

Fans of The Vamps are known as Vampettes – for girls, the guys are Vampions.

The band’s rise to fame started when they supported McFly on their Memory Lane Tour in April and May 2013.

Since then they have also supported Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Little Mix, R5, and The Wanted.

On February 12, 2014, the band announced their own UK tour which started in September 2014.

‘Wildheart’ was originally uploaded to YouTube in July 2013, which later changed its name to ‘Wild Heart’ and gained 46,000 views in just two days!

Following its success on YouTube, Wild Heart was released as a single on January 18, 2014, and managed to reach number three in the UK Singles Charts.

There are eight alternative versions of Wild Heart to purchase, one of them featuring Pixie Lott. Lott Tweeted that she “had the best time” working with the boys.

Their debut single ‘Can We Dance’ came out on September 29, 2013, which debuted at number two on the UK Singles Chart on October 6th.

‘Can We Dance’ achieved one million YouTube views in just two weeks!

On 29th November 2013, ‘Can We Dance’ was certified Silver by the British Phonographic Industry for selling over 200,000 copies!

On Valentines Day 2014, ‘Can We Dance’ was certified Platinum in Australia for having sales of over 70,000.

Their third single ‘Last Night’ was released in the UK on April 6, 2014, which also reached number two on the UK Singles Chart.

Their debut album ‘Meet the Vamps’ was released through Mercury Records on April 14, 2014, which includes their first three singles.

The Vamps won two awards from ‘The Hot Hits Awards’ for Favorite New Artist and Best Group.

In 2014, the band also won the ‘Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards’ for the UK Favorite Breakthrough.

In an interview with Tristan, he revealed that ‘She Was The One’ was one of the first songs they wrote as a band and it felt like a real achievement once it was finished.

The boys wrote ‘High Hopes’ with McFly, which is on ‘Meet The Vamps’.

The boys always watch ‘Lost’ together.

When the band arrives in places, their fans jump on the cars! Tristan says it’s “probably quite dangerous but what can you do”?!

The band performed for about 300 fans on April 14, 2014, at Westfield shopping center in Shepherd’s Bush before a signing event at Westfield, Stratford.
