Nineteen year old Jonathan Parker, of Fort Loudoun, Pennsylvania, was charged with daytime burglary after stealing two diamond rings and using the computer in the house to check his Facebook profile, forgetting to log off from the social networking site.

The victim reported the crime to the police instantly, without realizing that her computer had been used and that the Facebook profile was still open.

During the investigation, the victim was told by a friend that the suspected criminal was staying in the same area.

When police visited that home, an acquaintance said that Parker did not live at the address and added that he had asked him for help to break into the victim’s house, though he refused.

Parker was placed in custody at Eastern Regional Jail on $10,000 (£6,125) bail and could face up to ten years in prison if convicted.

It makes me laugh at how stupid some people could be! I bet while he was there he even changed his Facebook Status to “is robbing a house lol”!
